"Miracles can happen in this realm: the moon comes down from the heavens, glistening polar bears walk on ice floats, white clouds bathe in the sea together with blue whales and delicate icebergs float in the sky. The snow there emits light and the melting glacier calls out to us, humans, whispering “I am still alive”.
My private moon helps turn our earth into a magical space, which must be preserved as the supreme treasure." - Leonid Tishkov

In this article, we have collected the 2nd part of the works of Leonid Tishkov's Private Moon.

After everyone has gone to bed
go to the window and there
the crescent moon has appeared to you

I invite the moon to tea
like a lump of sugar
the damp night dissolves the moon in
an apple tree

Leonid Tishkov With His Private Moon Part I

A man who met the moon and stayed with her for the rest of his life.

"Private Moon" (2003 until now) is a project by Russian artist Leonid Tishkov. The story behind the series is below along with the original images that Tishkov took.
Tishkov and his illuminated moon have since traveled all around world – Russia, New Zealand, The Arctic, Japan, China, France, Italy, USA and more.

“Private Moon” is a visual poem telling the story of a man who met the Moon and stayed with her for the rest of his life. In the upper world, in fact in the attic of his own house, he saw the Moon falling off from the sky. Once she was hiding from the Sun in a dark and damp tunnel. But the passing trains frightened her. Now she came to this man’s house. Having wrapped the Moon with warm blankets he treated her with autumn apples, gave her a cup of tea, and when she got well he took her in his boat across the dark river to the high bank overgrown with moon pine-trees. He descended into the lower world dressed in the clothes of his deceased father and then returned from there lighting up his path with his personal Moon. Crossing the borderline between the two worlds across a narrow bridge, immersed in a dream and taking care of this heavenly creature, the man became a mythological being living in a real world as in a fairytale. Each photograph is a poetic tale, a little poem in its own right.

Therefore each picture is accompanied by my own verse, which I wrote when I drew my sketches for the photographs. So it turns out that the Moon overcomes our loneliness in the universe uniting many of us around it.

Text by Leonid Tishkov

Like Magritte’s
Day and Night
The moon was stuck in a pine tree’s crown
a needle adhered to its radient sleeve

The sky is near.
Open the attic and you’ll see
there next to the wasp nest
rings the blinding light
of the lost moon

Open the closet
there among the old coats, the moon
hides from people

Autumn is so chilly
even the moon has caught a cold

I cross the dark river
to the high bank
where the lunar evergreens grow

I grope about in the dark
carrying the heavenly light on my back
in a swarm of sparkling bees

The Moscow Moon
in a starless sky
has sat down on the edge of a roof

Like a lunar unicorn
Under the covers she
shines even brighter

The funeral of the moon-every morning
Come nightfall you discover the body of the newborn moon
and help return it to the sky
leaving a mere trace in the snow
a thawing light impression...

Decorating tips for making the events memorable

“Setting the right ambience for your celebration which will create a lasting impact for you & your guests!”

When putting together an event for any reason, you never go into it with the hope of it being satisfactory or average – instead, you want attendees to leave talking about it and looking forward to your next event. There are many ways to go about creating a memorable experience. Great content, delicious food (people care more about the food than you might realize), and impactful design are just a few examples of the event decor principles that can truly dazzle guests.

Let’s take a look at some ways that you can elevate your events through design below:

Dazzling Entrances

First impressions are the most lasting, so get your guests’ attention right away with an impressive entrance. There are countless options to choose from, but high-end entertainment and luxury style décor are always going to be crowd pleasers, regardless of the event type.

First impressions are lasting, so win over your guests right away with an impressive entrance.

The key is to get people smiling and talking from the beginning. Oftentimes, when attendees first arrive at any kind of event they can feel uncomfortable and immediately start searching for familiar faces or a place to sit. By providing a show-stopping entrance, you’ll get a chance to break the ice and set the scene for a fun and unique experience rather than the standard event they may have been expecting.

Creating Scenes

Creating scenes that incorporate snippets of different themes is a great way to capture people’s attention and get them involved in what is going on around them. Keep it simple with themed tables where guests will be sitting, or differently themed rooms throughout the space. We once held an event that included a Roman-themed room complete with Italian cars and soft music, an Italian romance-themed room, a rainforest room, and an all-white lounge with so much sparkle, it was as if diamonds were hanging from the ceiling. We set up a path throughout the space that guided attendees from scene to scene. Each room was very different from the next, and the details may have seemed disjointed together. By breaking everything up into scenes, the guests were surprised at every turn with something new to talk about in each room. Decide what themes make sense for your event and get creative.

Unexpected Lighting

Lighting and A/C may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about design, but it is one of the most important parts of creating a theme or mood in any space. It can also yield some of the most dramatic reactions from attendees when it’s done in a surprising and unexpected way. Think outside the box with uplighting by using colors to fill the room to either match or contrast with the event’s color palette. Incorporating reflective extras like mirrors or crystals is also a great way to maximize the effect of the lighting.

Another great way to incorporate unexpected lighting is through a gobo wash, which is a stencil placed in front of a light source that creates a fun and unique design to display on any surface. They are most popularly used on dance-floors, but are also fun to showcase on walls as well.

If you are event planner, or you're looking for some lights for halloween and christmas party decorating, here we have great mood lights for you: LOFTEK decor light, LED RGB flood light (colour changing wall-washer light)

Conclusion, the most important thing is to have given guests an experience that leaves them wanting more. If attendees are sad to leave the event, then you know it’s a job well done. What do you do to make participants jaws drop? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
